Before the implementation of biometrics, the electoral process of the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais (TJMG) used traditional methods. The voting records were made manually and the verification of voters' identities occurred out by visual inspection. This system presented risks, such as errors in records and the possibility of fraud, including falsification of documents and participation of unauthorized persons.
The slowness of the voting process was also a challenge. The manual verification of each voter and ballot paper counting required time, resulting in delays in tallying the votes.
After adopting the biometric technology of BioPass ID, TJMG achieved the following results:
